The foolish goat
Once a fox was chased by a tiger in a forest. He ran as fast as he could in order to save his life. But suddenly, he fell into a well which was covered with shrubs that obstructed his vision, while running. He was sad because the fox knew that he could not avoid his death. Soon the fox heard the voice of goat and he called the goat near the well. The goat came near the well and asked the fox as to what he was doing in the well. The fox replied, that drought was soon coming in the country and that their would be no water anywhere and so he also came to enjoy the sweet water of the well. The fox said that the water was so tasty that he didn't even feel hungry. The fox invited the goat into the well to give him company. The goat believed the fox and jumped into the well. As soon as the goat jumped into the well the fox very cleverly placed one of his feet on her horn and jumped out of the well. The poor goat was left behind. She cried for the fox not to leave her alone. The fox said, "Friend, you should have looked before you had leapt into the well to see if it was possible for you to come out of it. You did not do that, and hence you will suffer." The fox left the place, and the goat lay in the well counting the days for her inevitable death.
