He was initially worried but later became angry. He went to take his happy pill when he opened the draw unmindfully, he saw the undelivered cards.
He went out and saw that everything around him was changed and very advanced. Later, it stuck him that he has traveled to the future. In that parallel universe, he never celebrated the birthday as he was never able to deliver his birthday card.
