Wendy's mother told her to go and fetch some water. Her father was out on the boat and so today was Wendy's duty to help with the chores. She didn't mind working. She had to cross the forest and the main road to get to the other side. It wasn't a long walk, hardly fifteen minutes to the well. She asked her mother permission to go and left with the bucket from her home.
She reached the well and got the pail of water. The pail was heavy so half way through she sat down on a big rock to catch her breath. When she sat down she saw a beautiful rainbow emerging in the sky. She rose from where she sat to get a clearer view. Now that the weather had changed and the snow was all gone, this was the time that spring would bring along captivating sites.
When Wendy reached home her father was there. She knew he must be tired. The poor man had to row himself and catch the fish and sell it in the market.
Her mother was almost done with crafting the last soap of the day. Her order was almost ready, 30 pieces of homemade herbal soaps with sandalwood. Her parents indeed worked very hard. Wendy went to washup for soon dinner would be served.
