Self- composed Story:

"What are you thinking about Daddy?", asked my four year old daughter while I was staring outside the window with a cup of tea in my hand. " You know what? Your Dad experienced flood when he was of your age." I answered. "Really Dad? Can you please tell me about it. Please, Please." said the four year old youngster out of curosity. So my thoughts went back to 1960s.

"Flood had hit the city, and it's not an ordinary one." said my Father. Our family had been without food for three days, the last grain of the old canister had disappeared several days ago. We all my mother, father, and four of my siblings were sitting on the terrace of the house. No place was left, everywhere we see was water, water and the same.. water. It grew darker, as the night had arrived, it started raining heavily again. I closed my eyes and held the locket given by my grandma tightly hoping that we all be safe but when I opened my eyes, I found myself on the branch of a tree. At that moment grief went straight through my heart, being small in age I could not think of what to do and I started crying as it was only thing that came on my mind. "Shh..!" a voice came from nearby. "Mom?.. ", I asked crying. " Whose son are you little boy?" asked a lady who was swimming in the flood water. " Mom, I want mom. " I answered crying as this only I was able to say while crying. She was a fine looking lady of dusky complexion of about 40 years age. She took me to the terrace of her house, swimming in the same flood water, all I saw there were corpses, carcases and fallen trees. She had a daughter of my age group only, she gave me food to eat and told me that she will send me to my mother when the water will start fading. I stayed with her family for ten days and she cared for me just like my own mother. On the very tenth day, the water had gone, everyone was moving here and there searching for their families. I was also there, with the same lady who helped me. I was holding her hand in that crowd, suddenly I saw my Mom's saree from a distance. I left her finger and ran towards my Mother. "Mom, Mom!", I shouted while running to her. " Arav!.. " she also shouted looking at me and we both hugged each other. We both were sobbing bitterly, then after some time I realised that the lady who saved me was no where to be seen in that crowd.

I gave a pause while narrating the story.

" Don't stop Dad, please tell what happened next. Did you ever meet her again?

I continued,

And.. "I never saw her again."
