It was children's day excursions to an adventure camp. My excitement almost made me mad. But none of us ever imagined that such a promising day would end in such a way. Ranjan and I were there on the zigzag ladder; we were enjoying and doing mischiefs. Our teachers had warned us to be careful. Suddenly there was a sound wham and everyone just stopped to see what had happened. Ranjan had fallen from the ladder and hurt himself badly. Blood was streaming down his head and he lay unconscious on the ground. Many of the teachers ran to where he lay and picked up. A car was called and Ranjan along with as many as teachers could be accommodated inside the car, rushed to the nearest hospital. Everyone suspected I had pushed him.
Fortunately, the hospital was not far away; Ranjan was taken to emergency. His parents were called who reached the hospital within two hours. They were in panic. The other students at the adventure camp were collected and taken back to school. After a few hours, Ranjan came to senses. He cleared all doubts about my involvement in his fall. And I finally heaved a sigh of relief.
