ground to play a match of hockey. The stands were jam packed to see their
favorite players play. The atmosphere was exceedingly electric.
As the teams entered the ground, shouts of exhilaration and
cheers from their respective supporters emanated from the stands. The teams
lined up in the middle of the ground. There was toss; the host school won the
toss and decided to attack.
The referee blew to whistle; the match was about to begin;
the two captains looked tense. Suddenly the ground began to shake violently,
tall structures around the ground began to crumble; scrams of panic could be
heard everywhere. The stands shook violently, there was chaos and commotion.
The stands collapsed too; many students got buried under the
rubble. The players standing in the middle immediately rushed to rescue
students trapped under the rubble. They forgot they were rivals. Their only
motive was to save as many lives as was possible.
Soon the Rapid Action Teams arrived. The metal roof was
lifted with the crane. Ambulances reached the ground. Injured students were
rendered first-aid. More critically injured ones were rushed to the hospital.
No one knew, that day of the match would turn out to be an
unforgettable catastrophe.
