It was one of the busy days in the hostel-the manual Labour Day in the boarding school. It was the usual Saturday morning when all students would have to assemble at the school compound to make a general cleaning which includes cutting of grasses, weeding of grown lawns, sweeping of surroundings, cutting of trees and all other works that the labor prefect deemed fit.

We generally call him Akin. While everybody was busy cutting, weeding, sweeping, Akin was busy sleeping at a corner behind the mango tree in the middle of the school compound where the library was. I went to wake him up that morning for we are friends. All he said was that he would cut his own portions when others would have finished, for he would not want anybody to disturb him.
