Moving to Ranikhet!
Hello everyone,
I am a working professional living in Delhi/NCR for the last 10 years or so. I'm married to a wonderful woman and have a beautiful daughter who will celebrate her first birthday later this year. My wife is also working and by god's grace we have a comfortable life. However, lately, I have started thinking a lot about my life and have begun realizing that I don't really want to live the life I have right now for the rest of my time.
While, I'm happy with my personal family life and with my professional life as well, what is troubling me is what I'm making of every day that I wake up in the morning. 5 days a week I work for 10 hours a day, come back home, eat my dinner and sleep. The same thing happens from Mon-Fri. On the weekend, I spend time with my wife and daughter and like today, ask myself - 'Is this life I want'?
This has been going on for quite some time and I have discussed it at length with my wife and parents. I have now decided to move to the hills – lock, stock and barrel. The city life, as financially lucrative as it may be, is too stressful, and there’s too much happening all the time. To top that, the weather is terrible; there is pollution and unnecessary materialism in everything. What is the point of working so hard and having no time to live your life the way you’d like to? However, it is something that cannot be done today. I have set myself a 5-year time-line. By that time, my wife and I hope to foreclose (or at least pay off a large part of) two home loans that we have for apartments in Gurgaon and also save some money.
