Once upon a time there used to be a little girl who lived with her sick mother. She was fond of her mother very much and wanted her mother to feel better soon. She didn't have any money to buy medicines which is why her mother gave her a wooden box to sell. Inside the box there was a small "amulet". The girl was told to cross the woods into the town to sell this amulet so that her mother and she could be fed.
The little girl made her way through the woods and accidentally lost the wooden box on the way. She was crying beside a willow tree when the willow tree spoke. She was startled to see such a magical being. The tree asked her about her reason for crying and she confessed everything that happened. The tree asked her what was inside the box, " Gold"? and she replied "no".
Then the tree asked, "was there silver coins in the box" and she again replied "no". On the third try the wooden box asked, " was there an amulet?" and she said "yes".
The tree was awestruck by the level of honesty of such a little girl. The willow tree granted the girl with the box and also told her to pick up two more boxes, one had gold in it and the other had silver coins. The tree also told her to pick some leaves off of the willow tree which would help to make her mothers medicine.
