Life consists of risks and challenges ; if we don’t face them we shall never ever accomplish what we want. Adversities also make us stronger. Raj’s story is a perfect example of bravery and courage.

His dream was to be a champion footballer; but his poor parents could not get him admitted in any football academy. The beauty of life lies in the fact that all great men and women were seldom from affluent families. The story of success begins with challenges. So did Raj’s story begin with obstacles and challenges.

In spite of being poor, Raj was a

determined and strong guy. There was

a power in him that always egged him

on to do his best. He would stand on

his roof-top and see the players

practice maneuvers in the ground.

Once a football came flying into his

house from the academy; and

fortunately no one came to claim it. Raj

kept the football and in his small lawn,

he would practice all the skills and

moves he had seen the players in the

academy practice. This went on for

many months.

As a result of Raj’s passion, he learnt to

control football with miraculous skills.

People would often wonder at his

dribbling, kicking, and other skills.

Once he was dribbling with his football

on the roof-top. He did not let the ball

fall for many minutes. The coach in the

academy was watching all the while.

He got impressed with Raj’s skills. He

called him and asked him to come to

the academy ground. He said to him,

‘Will you play the practice match

tomorrow?’

‘Of course’, replied Raj, ‘| would love

to’

Raj scored a hattrick in the practice

match leading to the win of his side.

The coach got further impressed with

him. He decided to include him in the

team that was to play a crucial match

against the most famous team of the

City.

Raj also scored a hattrick in that match.

The sponsors were attracted towards

him; they hired him. Raj became a huge

sensation. He became the number one

player of his country. Thus from scratch

he inked his own success story.

--- bravery and courage ---

Ramu was a simple village boy. He studied at his village school till Std V. After that, he moved to Hyderabad for further studies. Hyderabad was new to him and he stayed with his uncle, who had lived in the city for a long time. Every day, his uncle would drop him off at school on the way to his office.

One day, his uncle had to go to office earlier than usual and Ramu had to go to school by himself. He knew the way and managed to reach school on time without any problem. In the evening, when school was out, two strangers at the school gate greeted Ramu. They saw Ramu and rushed to him. “We are from your village,” said one man. “Your mother and father sent us to bring you from Hyderabad.” Ramu believed them and got into their van to go to his hometown. Ramu didn’t realise that they were actually kidnappers.

Later, Ramu told them that the road they were on was not the route to his village. “This is another route to your village,” they said. But Ramu had his suspicions and understood that he was being kidnapped. He sat and observed the road, and when they stopped the van for a break, Ramu got down and ran to the main road. He flagged down a passing vehicle and got a ride back to the city. His uncle was waiting worriedly.

Since then, Ramu became bolder and went to school on his own.
