Once upon a time, a rooster and a donkey were living with a washer-man in a village.
The village was located near a forest.
The rooster was very intelligent, while the donkey was very foolish.
One day when the washer-man had gone out for some work, the donkey and the rooster were enjoying the evening in the garden outside their home.
At that time a lion from the forest came near to the house.
The Lion was very hungry, when he saw the donkey in the garden, the lion thought to attack on him to satisfy his hunger.
The Donkey was busy in grazing, but the rooster noticed the lion behind the donkey. To save his friend, rooster crowed loudly.
The Lion got scared hearing sudden scream and he walked back and started to leave.
The donkey was also shocked after hearing rooster’s scream. But before he could ask the rooster, he saw the lion going back from his behind.
The foolish donkey thought that the lion is scared from him, that’s why he is going back to the forest.
He felt so proud and in order to show-off his power, he thought to chase the lion and scare him more.
The poor donkey followed the lion and came very far from his house and then he brayed in a loud voice.
When the hungry lion saw the donkey behind, he returned and pounced on him.
The donkey lost his life because of his foolishness.
Moral of the story: Always think before you act, & never underestimate your enemy.
