The sky cried during the night as I walked home from work. When I crossed the bridge, I saw a figure standing on the railing.
"Hey," I called out, "that's not a safe place to be!"
"Go away." It's a young boy, his dirty blonde hair soaked.
"Let's start over then. I'm Hannah." I replied. "That's a nice Pulp Fiction shirt. If you get down, we could watch it together."
The boy was quiet. Then he spoke. "Why?"
I mustered a sad smile. "I guess it's because my sister once stood where you are now." Sighing, I remembered the fun times we had, and the guilt for not saving her hit me. "So, what do you say?"
His eyebrows furrowed. Then he turned, the soles of his shoes squeaking against the water on the railing. I asked for his name, but as he started to answer, his foot slipped. His arms flailed desperately, fear stricken on his face, as he cried out for help. I lunged for his hand, grasping it for a second before it slipped between my fingers. As he fell, time slowed down, and all I could do was scream as he plummeted towards the roaring waters.
Done! That's 200 words exactly you just read. I think I did well for such a limit. :)
