They had a baby too. one day she went to market leaving her baby home and mongoose guarding the it. she was in a hurry as she wanted get some milk and honey and also did not wanted to leave the baby alone. Meanwhile, the mongoose was guarding the baby while a big cobra comes into the house, mongoose and cobra have a fight, where the mongoose doesn't want the baby to be killed. it kills the cobra a the blood gets covered everywhere by the time the woman comes and sees the mongoose, covered in blood and thinks that it killed her baby. she gets angry and finally kills the mongoose.
