oncei was sitting on a bench reading newspaper,The bench in the park. Why is it special? Well it’s just an ordinary wooden bench. In an ordinary park. In an ordinary city. Nothing special really apart from it’s my bench. Well not exactly my personal property but I’ve used it for such a long time now that I like to think of it as mine. I sit there all of the time watching life pass by and so I tend to call it ‘Mark’s Bench’ (that’s me by the way, Mark Grainger). I go there every day, day in, day out, and life unfolds in front of me. Whatever the weather I am there, as the seasons pass, almost as quickly as some of the people in the park. I know the names of many of the people who sit next to me on the bench but they don’t seem to bother making my acquaintance.
