A doctor once visited a mechanic’s garage to get his car repaired. They got talking about their professions. The mechanic jokingly said that their professions were more or less the same. Both of them had patients that they were treating and trying to make better. The doctor had a good laugh and agreed with the mechanic.
The mechanic then wanted to know why the doctor earned more than him when both were doing the same thing. The doctor replied that the answer was very simple. The mechanic’s patients were not ‘alive’ and he did not work on them with the engine running. But, the doctor treated patients with their engines or hearts running. This was more dangerous and that is why he earned more.
