Once Saint Peter went out for his usual round of travelling.

He felt hungry and met a woman in a cottage who was baking cakes.

Saint Peter asked her for some cakes to eat. T

he woman was very greedy and hesitant to give away even a tiny amount of food for free.

By seeing her greediness Saint Peter got angry and cursed her to abandon her human form only to search for food all day in dry woods.

She then transformed into a woodpecker.
