India is famous for doing handloom fabrics as each state in India has its unique style like kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh, Muga silk from Assam, Kosa silk from Chhattisgarh, Kunbi from Goa, Panja scurries from Haryana, Bandhani from Gujarat, Kullu shawls from Himachal, Kanjeevaram from Tamil Nadu, Kasavu from Kerala, Mysore silk from Karnataka etc.
Handloom weavers in India are not much recognised as there are power looms which will do the work faster than the weaver.
A weaver can loom a sari for about two to three days if he does faster but this same process is done in power loom then two to three saris can be weaved within a day.
The handloom weaver who belongs to a particular state come under a dealer or a supplier and they are paid
minimum cost for each sari worn. Due to this, their daily life expenses have been affected and they do not insist on their upcoming generation to continue their ancestral behaviour.
