Once upon a time in Scotland there lived a chiftain of a clan. His name was Lord Ullin. He had a beautiful who loved the chief of another clan, known as Ulva. Owing to the long-standing feud between both the clans, Lord Ullin was against their love. Lord Ullin's daughter defied her father's orders and eloped with her lover.
Lord Ullin was deeply enraged; he decided he would chase both the lovers, capture them, and have the Chief of Ulva killed. However, Lord Ullin's wife was a very sagacious woman. She counselled her husband; she explained the act of killing her daughter's lover might provoke their daughter to commit suicide.
Lord Ullin pondered over the possibility carefully. He also adored his daughter; he decided he would bury hatchet and have the couple married. He sent his most trusted men instructing them to persuade the eloping couple and bring them back.
The couple was exceedingly delighted to hear the good news. They readily returned home. Lord Ullin accepted them with open arms. He fixed their wedding date. People from both the clans enjoyed the wedding feast. Lord Ullin's daughter and her lover were happily married.
