GOD’S MERCY ON MY LIFE

March 5, 2013

Dear Nick,

I would like to share my story as you have shared your story with so many people. My name is Genevieve and I have overcame, by the grace of God, many hardships and struggles but none quite like this. On December 19th of last year, I had been in a car accident and was told that I had a pelvic and a neck fracture, it was so bad that doctors don’t know how I am still living! I don’t remember how the accident happened but prior to that I had a dream where I was getting beat up so badly that God told me I wouldn’t be able to walk, that I would suffer greatly on this earth but I would not die despite the amount of blood I had lost. The night of the accident I blacked out and woke up to find myself lying on a stretcher in the ambulance, the paramedic told me everything including “You are lucky to be alive, I thought we lost you.” I remember being so confused that I tried to move my legs but to my surprise, I couldn’t. It was then that I thought I was paralyzed! I blacked out at least three different times that day only to wake up to seeing my life flash before my eyes, I thought I was paralyzed and dying! Then I remembered my dream and how closely this event related and His promise to me.

I was in the hospital for four days, with no surgery but I was confined to a wheelchair for quite sometime. Doctors told me that I would be out of the wheelchair in four weeks. I did away with the wheelchair in 3 weeks, used a walker at 4 and walked at 5! Less than 6 weeks!! In that dream God had told me that although I would suffer greatly on this earth, people will know Him because of my story. So I have made this an obligation to get His miracle out there, to do His will. Although I read your story Life Without Limits when I got better it has taught so much. I am thankful to have had that attitude of gratitude concerning my accident, people today tell me that I have inspired them, that I have changed for the better. God has shown me how hard it is to get around with no legs but you have made the best of it, and if you can life live so amazingly so can everyone else. I have been inspired by your story and have shared it with my friends and I’m hoping others will do the same. God has turned something horrible into something amazing, into something worth being thankful about. The verse that helped me along the way was John 5:8: “Get up! Pick up your mat, and walk!” My interpretation of this was: “Get up! Fold up your wheelchair and walk!” Your book has taught me how much happier someone can be when they have the attitude that you are encouraging people to have. Today, after my near-death experience, I not only walk but I am encouraged to share my story with the world!
