On a hot summer day a lion was sleeping under a tree. A mouse lived nearby. The mouse came and began to play over the body of the sleeping lion. The lion woke up. Angrily he caught the mouse in his paw and was going to kill it. Just then the mouse said, "Take pity on me. Do not kill me. I will help you some day. " The lion laughed but he set the mouse free.
After sometime the lion was caught in the net of a hunter. He tried his best to free himself, but could not succeed. He roared loudly. The mouse heard his roaring. It rushed to the lion. It cut the net with its sharp teeth. The lion became free. He thanked the mouse and became its friend.

Some days later, the mouse heard the lion roaring in pain. He ran out of his hole and found the lion in trouble.
The lion was caught in a hunter’s net. He tried hard to set himself free, but he did not succeed. The mouse ran to him and said, “Don’t worry, great king. I will set you free in no time.” And he began to cut the cords of the net with his sharp little teeth. Soon the lion was free. He thanked the little mouse in a humble voice and went on his way.
