Abraham Lincoln the 16th President of the United States, was born in a poor family in Kentucky, in the United States of America in the year 1809.Son of a poor farmer, Lincoln underwent many hardships.However, finally his perseverance and hardwork paid off and he became a lawyer.
During those years, America was passing through a difficult phase.The whole society was crippled with slavery. While eleven southern States that had many sugar and cotton plantations, indulged in slavery, the northern States opposed it.It was then (in the year 1861), that Abraham Lincoln was elected the President of America.
