The Old Farmer And His Four Sons

Once upon a time there lived a farmer and he had four sons. The sons always quarreled among themselves. At this the farmer felt ver worried and sad. He advised them not to quarrel with each other. But all his advices became useless. They didn't listen to him. As the time passed, the farmer became old gradually. One day he hit upon a plan. He asked his sons to bring a stick each and make a bundle of it. They did so. Now their father told each of them to break the bundle. His sons tried but none could do it. Then the farmer told them to untie the bundle and break each stick separately. They did it very easily. The farmer said to his sons, " Listen, if you live together, being united, nobody will be able to harm you. On the other hand if you always quarrel among yourselves, stay separately and above all do not help each other in time of danger, outside enemy will break you like each separate stick."
