Quite funny and ridiculous things often happen in life. I witnessed one such unusual incident recently. I got an opportunity to attend a political function in which the M.P. of our city was to address the people. A grand stage had been set. There were delicious snacks for the people. Two famous rival singers of different genres had been entertaining people with their performances alternately. One singer was known for her feet stomping rustic music. When she sang the atmosphere became electric; the youngsters would rise from their seats and dance. However, when the other singer sang, who was known for singing old songs, old and matured people would enjoy her performances.

Thus the people were having lots of fun. And then the M.P. arrived. The performances were halted. People wanted to hear more songs from their favourite singers. However, the organizers said there would be speeches from the dignitaries before the M.P.’s address. The people gathered did not want to hear the hackneyed speeches. They demanded the songs. When the organizers refused their request, the people became violent. They began throwing the chairs on the stage. The entire gathering turned into pandemonium. Security was called in. the singers were escorted to safety. The audience began booing. Finally the programme was called off.
