I was in my office minding my own business and doing my work. It was like every other afternoon, a boring, dry, unhappy little place. I stood up to stretch a little then I heard the knock on the door. I went to open the door. I could see the shadow of the man that stood on the other side. Opened the door and there was a policeman on the other side. "Well hello there officer, how may I help you?" I said. He looked straight at me with his dark brown serious eyes. His eyes seemed tired as if he was crying for years. "I have some news for you.." he said in a low sorry voice. "Is everything alright officer?" I asked. I wish I never opened that door. I wish I never come to the office that day. "Well, I am sorry to inform you that....your husband has died in battle" I was in shock. I couldn't move. Then I felt my eyes flooding with tears. "No..no..this can't be happening" I came out of the office with tears all over my face.
