Write a story that has a starting the children were playing outside?

One day some children were playing outside, and all of the sudden the ground began to shake. They were so scared none of them moved. People around them were screaming, shouting, and running around. They were scared, confused, and nervous. Their parents ran outside and grabbed them. The children started to cry as they ran down steps into a drafty whole. It was full of cement and blankets and food. The kids were still crying and didn't know what to do. Once they were settled the parents comforted them and gave them things to eat and drink. Once the storm had passed they came outside into an underly disgusting world.
