Answer:
Cricket clubs are used to not being able to honour fixtures because of the weather or player shortages, but Roborough Cricket Club in Devon have a more long-term issue after a group of so-called travellers set up camp on the outfield earlier this week and let their children loose on the square.
They've been riding across the wicket,” said club treasurer Mike Gaylard. “We're going to inspect it on Monday morning and carry out any necessary repairs. We're hoping we'll be able to play in the afternoon. They just think they've got a God given right to be there.”
“We're just passing through; it's our way of life,” one of the travellers countered. “It's the only way you know when you've been brought up with it.”
The police washed their hands of the situation and the local council, who own the ground, said that they could “only move as fast as the law allows”.
Hope it helps u dear
Answer:Evelyn sat on the cold hard ground. She looked at the matted black dog and saw the weakness and pain in his eyes, and she noticed that the dog saw those same emotions in hers. Evelyn didn’t go to school that day, she found she was quite tired and got up very late. Evelyn’s father was asleep, just like he always was. But unusually, there was not a woman in his bed, there was no mysterious lady creeping around the house while he was asleep. There was, as there had always been, rodents of some disgusting sort crawling along the hard wood floor. Evelyn couldn’t find breakfast, but she knew that when her father got up, she could find his wallet and buy something from the closest service station.
Evelyn’s older brother was in his room, she wasn’t sure what he did in there, but whatever it was, he wasn’t coming out. She was alone. She considered her options, she could go back to the couch and go to sleep, she could go to the abandoned house next door, or she could scavenge and search the dreadful house for a few dollars. Evelyn was sure that school was not an option, it was now 2:00 and there would be no time after she walked to school and then found a uniform from the office and put it on. She sobbed. Sleeping seemed the only sensible choice.
Then a quite loud, eerie knock at the door startled her. It could be a woman of dad’s, or one of dad’s mates, it could be a salesperson or maybe somebody from the neighbourhood. Evelyn heard loud angry voices coming through the door. She heard a bang, and saw the door buckle. The Pounding on the door was nerve-racking. But her dad was in a very deep sleep. The door was now being beaten. She noticed that it would not hold. Her dad was asleep, and god knows what her brother was doing.
She looked at the completely frantic dog, snarling and barking at whoever was at the door, the banging stopped. She saw a hand reach over the gate and try to unlock it. She jumped underneath the coffee table and hid. The dog was barking, and the gate was now being beaten just like the door. She was sure the gate would not hold. She heard the latch snap. She was blind in the sense that she had no idea who it was at the door or what they were going to do. She broke into a heavy sweat.
The door handle twisted and it opened. She saw dark figures walk past and heard one woman’s and one man’s voice, it was the police. They were asking if anyone was there. Evelyn stood up. She would not sleep her problems way like her father, she was brave. The policemen were kind to her, but for some reason, she never saw that house or her father again. She brought the dog with her.
