Once upon a time, there lived two friends a fox and a tortoise. They were very good friends and helped each other in every stage of life, either grief or happiness. They lived happily. One day a lion came. They both were playing near the river bed. When the fox saw the lion coming he told his friend immediately,"Run! The lion will eat us up." But the tortoise could not run, he crawled slowly and steadily. Seeing the lion he clasped into his shell. The lion came and started scratching on the shell. The fox was seeing it, he thought of a plan. He said to the lion,"Oh king! Put that animal into the river, it's shell will get softened and you will be able to break it very easily." The lion became happy. He threw the tortoise into the river and the tortoise came out of his shell and swimmed far away. The fox laughed at the foolishness of the lion and ran away. In this way the fox saved the tortoise from the clutches of the lion.
