Answer:

The story:

A young lad was once buying sweets from the market. The halwai was not an honest man. He gave him a short measure. “You are not giving me full weight?” said the boy. Never mind,” said the shop-keeper, “you with have the less to carry.” The boy said nothing in reply. He only kept back a ten-paisa piece, when he paid him for the sweets. “Look here, me boy,” said he, “you haven’t made full payment for the sweet.” “Nerve mind,” replied the boy, “you will have the less to count.” The dishonest shopkeeper had to keep quiet, because short payment from the lad was only due to his giving him a short measure.

The story about the dishonest shopkeeper

Explanation:

The dishonest Shopkeeper

Once there was a boy named Ravi. His mom told him to buy 1kg of wheat flour from the mill nearby. He went to the market in his bicycle and asked the shopkeeper to give him a kilo of wheat flour. The shopkeeper was a bad man and thought that as he was a small boy, he could trick him. So he gave only 1/2 kg of wheat flour and told him to pay 50 Rs. The boy did not trust the shopkeeper. So he asked him to weigh the flour again and show it to him. The boy noticed that the shopkeeper has tried to trick him. The boy asked the shopkeeper "Why did you give only 1/2 kg ? The shopkeeper replied, "I am giving 1/2kg because if I give 1kg it will be hard for you to carry it home." He boy was sure that the shopkeeper was making fool of him. he was a clever boy. he gave the shopkeeper only 25 rupees. The shopkeeper was surprised an asked, "Why have you given me just 25 rupees? The cost is 30 rupees."

The boy replied, "Yeah, because if I give you 50 rupees, itwouldbe hard for you to count."

The shopkeeper was astonished. He couldn't believe that the boy was very clever. So he asked, "I thought you didn't know anything as you are a smallchild" He replied, "You see, I may be a small boy, but it doesn't mean that I dont know anything. you know, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover"
