Once in a small village lived three little, poor orphans. The three children would collect mangoes from a tree near a railway track and sell them in the market. This is what they did for earning a day’s bread. One morning, a thick mist had settled upon the railway tracks. Sanju and Punit were collecting mangoes while Arjun the eldest one was sitting aside as he had injured his foot. He wasn’t able to see anything because of the mist but his sharp ears made him alert. He could hear a train coming and realised that his brothers were on the track. Sensing danger, he tore off his red shirt, hobbled as fast as he could and started waving it in the direction of the incoming train. The train had a fog light that made seeing through the mist possible so the driver was able to see Arjun waving his red shirt at him. He got the message and immediately pressed the brakes to stop the train. Thus, an accident was avoided. The driver and some of the passengers got off the train. They appreciated and rewarded Arjun for his deed. The locals also appreciated his effort and intelligence which saved the lives of his brothers. One of the passengers, a wealthy man with a good heart observed this and decided to give them what they deserved. He enquired about them from the villagers and made arrangements to adopt them. After the adoption formalities, they got a proper home, food and education and most importantly the love of a family.
