                                       I Will Never Tell Lie Again

We should refrain from telling lies as it can result in loss of various kinds. I became victim of my own lie. It was Sunday; I was relaxing at home. I had no intention of being disturbed or intruded upon.

I was enjoying my favourite TV program. Suddenly, the bell rang! I got panicked! I immediately instructed my wife: “If anyone is there, tell him I am not at home.” So my wife carried out the instructions.

When she came upstairs I asked: “Who was it?” She replied: “Someone from Suzuki Motor Corporation wanted to see you. But as instructed by you I told him you are not home. However, he gave me his number and asked you to call him when you get home.”

I took the number and thought I would call later. So next day I called the number and introduced myself. The voice on the other side told me: “I am from Suzuki Motor Corporation. You have won the lucky prize of rupees 50000/-. Our computer picked your name randomly. Kindly bring your identity proof tomorrow and claim your prize amount. I thanked him. After hanging up I resolved never to tell lies again in my life. My lie would have cost me the windfall!

It was a Sunday and the movie 'The Beauty and the Beast' had just released on the day before. My friend Rohit and I were keen on watching that movie. Unfortunately, we had our annual examination going on and it was pretty sure that neither Rohit's parents and nor mine would allow us to go to see the movie. We had prepared well for the exam which was on Monday and we thought of a plan. Rohit took permission from his parents that he wanted to study with me as he had to seek clarification on a few topics for Mathematics test the next day. The impression I had on his parents, they allowed him to come to me for studies. On the other side of it, I also made the same excuse about having some clarification to seek and study with Rohit and going to his home. Fortunately my mom also gave  permission and we went to watch the movie. It was during the interval that we were taking pop corn from the shop in the cine complex and there stood next to us Rohit's sister in the line to pay for pop corn. We were so embarrassed. Rohit's sister took him to a corner and said something to him. When he came back he was a bit serious. Though we watched the complete movie and came home, Rohit to his with his sister and I to mine, I felt so bad that I vowed I will never tell lies again.
