you can write something full of suspense like - I heard someone calling my name but when I turned around no one was there and then I heard it again. there was something in the tone of the voice that sent a chill down my spine.
you know you could write something like this

and keep the end full of suspense it would be better

also you can write that you kept on seeing something....something sort of a shadow and you were so scared that even a little noise would make you jump ......

you can also make it a dream...

is this enough??
