Lost In The Desert
Cody Watson, Grade 6, Brookton District High School Short Story
2017
One fine morning in Mine Land, Steve found himself lost in the middle of the desert. It was hot and very dry, there were no trees to stand under for shade and escape from the heat. He was wondering if it was a dream or not so he pinched himself and he was still there.
Then he said, "Oh man was I sleep walking, out of all the players in Mine Land it had to be me, why why?" Not knowing where he was didn't help either, he was lost in the desert.
He started walking the way he thought was home. He saw a sign that said, ‘This is the only way out of the Mine Land desert of Doom’. Steve saw an arrow pointing down a hole then suddenly out of nowhere, a hand grabbed his leg and pulled him in. Steve was yelling "Help, help, help!" He got louder the further he fell. When he stopped falling, he whispered to himself angrily, "Now I know why they call it the Desert of Doom." Steve looked around, he was in a darkened room, he looked at his health bar and it started to go back up.
He saw a sword appear in his inventory and he heard a voice in the darkness say, "You will fight me or you will never go home."
"Why should I, I don't even know who you are?" said Steve.
"Because I'm Herobrine, King of all the monsters of Mine Land," he replied.
Then there was a pause in the room, then Herobrine said, "Let's make a deal, if you beat me in a fight, I will respawn and kill you and you will go home and never come back here again. But if you lose, you will respawn here and work for me forever.”
"Deal" Steve said.
Then they started to fight, they both have one heart left in their health bar. Steve knew he could win so he hit him once more with his sword and Herobrine died. Herobrine started to respawn and then Steve woke up in bed. "Wow what a cool dream," Steve said to himself, but what Steve didn't know was it wasn't a dream but he was happy thinking it was a dream. The end
