1. Niu sought respite from the bitter cold by settling down in front of a fire in the inn and ordered soup and dumplings to feel warm and cosy.

8. Niu is a very kind and generous person. He is also very ambitious and will go to any lengths to get what he wants. Even though the way he used to pass in this exam was not correct, he used his position as a magistrate justly.
9. The lesson learnt is that we must always be kind to people. Someday it will be repaid and we shall benefit from it.
10. When Niu died, he was mourned by a lot of people. This shows that he was loved and respected by all. So Niu did die a very happy and content man.
