The dictionary says a hero is a man admired for his achievements and qualities. I picked my dad, Mike Brister, to be my hero because he has a heart like Jesus. My dad helps people around the world if they are poor and sick. He said, "It is an honor to be considered a hero for doing things you love to do." When he is gone on mission trips to Haiti and Mexico, we miss him, but we know he is doing a good thing for Jesus. My dad works at Hope for the Hungry. He also goes to Bell Oaks and Belton Housing Authority to play with some kids who might not have a mom or a dad. My dad is strong so he can lift things to make buildings for people that do not have homes or somewhere to stay. He said, "There is a feeling of satisfaction when you help someone else be successful." People do good things, but none of them are good things like the things my daddy does. My dad is an awesome guy. I wish every dad could be like that. My dad thinks that a hero is someone who will put aside their own personal desires to help others. That is exactly what my dad does. He is my hero
