When I was in class 9th, I remember an incident when I got punished for other persons fault. I was one of the most popular students in my school and also the topper and every teacher's favourite. So, there was this one girl in my class named Jhanvi who was jealous of me like hell as before I joined the school in 9th class, she was popular and every teacher's favourite. So, she tried to let me down infront of the whole class. So, one day in recess when we all were playing in the school playground, she stole our class teacher's mobile phone and and laptop (teachers usually don't bring laptops to schools but she brought one as she had some important work to do and Principal ma'am told her to get) and hid it in my bag. Also she hid one of my assignment I was supposed to submit that day and it was very important.
So, after recess, when the teacher came to our class, she shouted that her laptop and phone is stolen. So, the conversation was as follows:
Teacher: Who stole my laptop!
No reply
She: I am asking again who did that! Whoever did is gonna be in great trouble.
After some time,
Ok, fine don't tell me. Anahita! Just check everyone's bags.
Me: Ok ma'am
After few minutes,
Me: Mam it's with none of them
Just then Jhanvi interrupted
Jhanvi: Ma'am but what about Anahita. She didnt checked her's bag.
Me: Why will I steal it? But if you want to check, you can check yourself
She went to my seat, opened my bag and the next thing shocked me to the core.
Me: I don't know how it get in there. Please believe me ma'am.
She: then did they went there themselves! I can't believe you could do this. Now you will be punished.
I pleaded but she would not listen. I saw Jhanvi smirking and it was then that I understand that it was she behind all this. She took me to the Principal's office. The Principal was totally shocked and told me to assume murga in the school playground in sun for 1 hour and made me do 50 sit ups holding ears and then they even thought to call my parents to inform them of my deeds. But then I thought of an idea. I told them, "Ma'am if you don't trust me, you can atleast trust the CCTV cameras. I am telling you ma'am I didnt do it, Jhanvi is the real culprit."
Principal: First you steal and then you are accusing other children.
Me: Ma'am please trust me once. I promise if I am wrong, you can call my parents and punish me in your own way and I will not say a word. Please!
Principal: Ok fine!
After watching footage, everything was clear. i was thinking why cctv thing didnt came in my mind earlier.
Later, Jhanvi was called and in place of me, her parents were called and she was made to do 200 sit-ups holding ears and 2 hours of murga punishment infront of the entire class. And also was canned badly and I was mentally dancing. Her parents too scolded her. And now no recess period for her and we also got to know about assignment thing.
So, this is my painful experience
