Ex- calcium's atomic no. is 20
therefore,it's electronic configuration

so it's valency is 2

These are steps for find out vacancy:
1. Find out the atomic number of element.
Aluminium=13
2. Make electronic configuration .

3. If in the last shell the number of atoms are less than 4 then that will its valancy .
Valancy of aluminium is

4. And if the number of atoms in last shell is greater than 4 than minus it with 8 .
