America was losing resources and troops at a high rate during the war with Japan. They needed Japan to concede defeat so the war could get over. America was justified from their perspective to stop the war from going on further. When the first bomb didn't get them the desired results they had to fire the second.

✌✌Hey, mate here is your answer⤵

President Harry S. Truman, warned by some of his advisers that any attempt to invade Japan would result in horrific American casualties, ordered that the new weapon be used to bring the war to a speedy end. On August 6, 1945, the American bomber Enola Gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. On this day in 1945, a second atom bomb is dropped on Japan by the United States, at Nagasaki, resulting finally in Japan's unconditional surrender. The devastation wrought at Hiroshima was not sufficient to convince the Japanese War Council to accept the Potsdam Conference's demand for unconditional surrender.

Truman Was Right to Drop the Atomic Bomb. Dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki brought the war to a quick end. On August 6, 1945, the United States changed the face of warfare when it dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later, U.S. forces detonated a second atomic bomb over Nagasaki, Japan, forcing an end to World War II.
