Areolar Tissue:- it is simple and typical connective tissue having semi-fluid jelly-like matrix, white collagen, yellow elastin, and reticular fibres, fibroblasts, mast cells, plasma cells (w.b.c.) , macrophages, protein, carbohydrates and immunocytes.

functions of areolar tissue:-

1. Areolar tissue provides packing material in various organs.

2. It binds various structures with one another in such a way as to prevent their this location while allowing limited movement.

3. It provides covering over nerves, muscles and blood vessels.

4. The tissue provides material for repair of injury .

5. It helps in supporting internal organs.

6. It feels the gap between internal organs.

Areolar tissue occours inside organs, around blood vessels, muscles and nerves, below the skin as a subcutaneous tissue and joining various structures like muscles (mucous membrane) with skin.
