during the 19th century there was a change in the british attitude towards india because of the emergence of new ideas . these ideas were nationalism , liberalism and humanism . these ideas were based on scientific thinking, promotion of love and respect and equality for all. these ideas influenced the british attitude towards india.

the british administrative policies were influenced primarily by three groups - conservatives , imperialists and radicals .

the emergence of a new group called radicals in England changed the attitude of british towards india. the radicals believed that india could be ruled in a better way by understanding its culture and by the introduction oof western education and social reforms.
