In the story of "tiger in a tunnel" baldeo acted as courageous and hardworking man who give the signal to the mail train arriving to the tunnel just after sharp cutting. he check that whether tunnel is free of obstruction or not.
in spite of severing winter and the horror of wild animal especially maneater tiger in dense forest, he does his duty as a watchman with full courage and enthusiasm.
he is also shown as extra ordinary courageous man in this story. while encountering with the maneater,he does not loose his hope and fight with it with huge courage but unlikely he is devoted to god.
