The British East India Company was busy in South, trying to put an end to the French political aspirations in India, problems started in Bengal between the Company and the Nawab of Bengal (Siraj-ud-daulah). Problems ended after the Battle of Plassey in 1757. It resulted in the defeat of Nawab and the conquest of Bengal for British. This victory made British East India Company more powerful in political control over India.

- Company's servants who expected to pay duty when carrying private trade, refused to pay it and started misusing the dastaks.
