A Visitor’s Guide To Bhutan
Bhutan is a small Himalayan country which is known for caring for its people, and while it may not be the most advanced or economically successful country in the region, it is a very religious and generally very peaceful country. One of the interesting features that is used to measure the success of Bhutan is Gross Domestic Happiness, which measures the quality of life and how happy the people of the country are. Bhutan is also noted for the diverse range of scenery that can be enjoyed in the country, with terrain that ranges from the high snow capped mountains down to the tropical plains where much of the food is produced.
The US State Department doesn’t offer any particular warnings for visitors traveling to Bhutan, although they do advise caution when traveling in the area near the southern border of the country where occasional problems with India have occurred.
