Bioluminescence is a property where living organism emit their own light .

Example: Luciola (firefly), pleirobrachia (Ctenophora kingdom),Lampyris noctiluca (Glow worm),jelly fish.

This is basically a chemical reaction in their body, which produces
pigment luciferin, and luciferin reacts with oxygen to give out light.

In some aquatic organisms a chemical called
aequorin is produces which reacts with Calcium to give out blue colour.
