In birds and mammals the blood enters twice in heart in one cycle, firstly it enters in right Atrium from Vena Cava(largest vein) and secondly it enters in left Atrium through Pulmonary vein.

One complete circulation of blood consist of Pulmonary circulation and systemic circulation.

In systemic circulation the deoxygenated blood enters from Vena Cava into heart and oxygenated blood is transferred from heart to the body through Aorta.

In pulmonary circulation the deoxygenated blood is transferred to lungs through Pulmonary Artery and oxygenated blood is carried from lungs to heart through Pulmonary vein.
