Structural organisation of Chloroplasts :

each chloroplasts consists of two membrane outer and inner. Each of them is having an internal space having organic and inorganic materials, that is called stroma. In the stroma, a lot of flat membranes are arranged in the stacks like coins, arrange over each other. These stacks are called grana. These contain chlorophyll pigments.

Functions :

It is involved in the production of food for plants in the form of starch. The special reaction is called photosynthesis. In this process, the plants use Carbon dioxide, water minerals and Sunlight to synthesise starch.

Unique feature :

Chloroplasts have their own DNA, ribosomes. So these can synthesise their proteins and make their copies during cell division.
