  1. Heart has valves which allow the flow of blood only in one direction and prevents its flow in backward direction.
  2. Valves are held in position by tough connective tissue called Chordaetendinae.
  3. Right auricle-ventricular aperture is controlled by a tricuspid valve which allows the blood flow from right auricle
  4. Left auricle-ventricular aperture is provided with bicuspid valve which controls the blood flow from left auricle to left ventricle
  5. At the origin of pulmonary aorta in the right ventricle Three half moon shaped or semilunar valves present which allow the blood to flow from right ventricle into pulmonary aorta
  6. At the origin of systemic aorta in the left ventricle there are three semilunar aortic valves which allow the blood from left ventricle into the aorta
