Eclipses-

We have seen that when we stand in sunlight,we block the path of light and a dark area appears on the ground. This is dark area in our shadow.in the same way, the moon and the earth cast huge shadow in the space. As they move into the space, their shadow changes position.sometimes, the shadow of the earth falls on the moon and sometimes the moon comea between the sun and the earth, blocking the sun's ray and casting its shadow on the earth. These phenomena known as eclipses.

There are 2 types eclipses

  • lunar eclipses
  • Solar eclipses

1. Lunar eclipses-

A lunar eclipses occurs when the sun, the earth and the sun and the moon are in a straight line with the Earth between the sun and the moon. this is the position of the sun, the earth and the moon on a full moon night. Thus a lunar eclipse occurs only on a full moon night. When the earth comes in the path of the path of the sun ,its shadow is created when this shadow cover the moon completely,we have a total lunar eclipses and, when it cover the moon partially,it is a patial lunar eclipse.

1.Solar eclipses-

A solar eclipses occurs when the sun,the moon and the earth are in a straight line with the moon between the and the earth. The shadow of the moon in the case fall on the Earth, sonpeople cannot see the sun.if. the shadow ofbrhe moon completely covers the earth, then we have a toltal solar eclipse and ifbthe shadow ofbthe moon cobers only some parts of the earth then it is a partical solar eclipse..
