=>In Indian history we can find a lot of social workers.from these,my favourite one is 'Raja Ram Mohan Roy'.

He Born On 1774 in Radhanagar of Hoogly District, When India Was Ruled By The British.He Took Education In 'Pathsala' In Their Village And Afterwards He Learnt Many Languages Like Arabic,Sanskrit Etc.

Ram Mohan Roy's impact on modern Indian history was his revival of the pure and ethical principles of the Vedanta school of philosophy as found in the Upnishads. He preached the unity of God, made early translations of Vedic scriptures into English, co-founded the Calcutta Unitarian Society and founded the 'Brahma Samaj'.The Brahma Samaj played a major role in reforming and modernising the Indian society.

His biggest achievement was the abolishment of “sati pratha”, a practice in the India of his times, where a widow was made to immolate herself at the funeral pyre of her deceased husband. He struggled for years to get this evil legally eradicated.

The Mughal Emperor Akbar II conferred the title “Raja” to him in 1831 when the reformer went to England as an ambassador of the Mughal Emperor to submit a representation to the King of England to increase the allowances granted by the British to the Mughal Emperor.

This great man left his breath on 27 September 1833.
