It was a pact between gandhi and irwin took place on 5th march 1931 irwin offered gandhi to attend second round table confrence held in london to represent he demands of indian citizens one of them was of abolition of salt tax.
Irwin promised gandhi ji that he would abolish the salt tax and also release imprisoned indians but when gandhi ji returned he found that conditions are gone worse than before
