Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi (31 March 1865 – 26 February 1887) was one of the earliest Indian female physicians. She was the first woman from the erstwhile Bombay presidency of India to study and graduate with a two-year degree in western medicine in the United States.

Gopal Bhar or Gopal Bhand was a court jester in medieval Bengal.

He was in the court of Raja Krishnachandra (1710-1783), the-then king of Nadia in the 18th century.

Gopal used to give joy to others by laughter and ridicule.The king considered Gopal as a Navaratna of his court.

His statue can still be seen in the palace of Krishnachandra and in Ghurni, Krishnagar town.

Gopal was very intelligent.
